Chen Wang Ting 陳王廷 and Jiang Fa 蔣發 left the corridor. They had now passed two tests. The first had been jumping the front gate and the second had been the arrows shooting down the corridor. They came to a different corridor which had a door at the other end where the leader was waiting for them. The leader smiled and opened the door for them. Chen Wang Ting knew that this was another test. Long poles hung from the walls on both sides of the room – this was another trap! Before they could not see the arrows before they were shooting at them but this time they could see the poles which would obviously swing at whoever tried to pass by, and if that person was not careful and a pole could hit them it could easily kill them. Chen Wang Ting smiled at the old man as if to say that this trap could not harm him. Chen Wang Ting entered the room and was so fast that he had reached the other side in the blink of an eye! This was because Chen Wang Ting’s Qing Gong 輕功 (Light Gong) was very good and when your Qi is strong your body will be very light and you will be able to move very quickly. As Chen Wang Ting ran across the room, he could hear the pole swinging and this meant that they had all missed him. Jiang Fa, who’s Qing Gong was also very good, was very clever, and seeing what his Sifu had just done followed after him in the same way.
