Shùn and Nì Chán Sī Jìn 順與逆纏絲勁 – Part 13 Turn Waist轉腰 – One Nì, One Shùn 逆順
Stand in a medium horse stance, with the feet two shoulder widths apart, back straight, hands resting in front of the Dāntián 丹田 and the palms facing down. As in the last movement we turn waist and the hands make Shùn and Nì Chán Sī Jìn 順與逆纏絲勁 circles in a figure of eight. As we turn to the right, both hands move out from the Dāntián circling behind to the right. This time the right hand is Nì and the left hand is Shùn. From the Dāntián, both hands circle up behind, past the face and then circle forwards back down to the Dāntián. Now the body has turned back to the front. We then begin to turn to the left and the hands continue to circle back up behind, up to the face and then forwards and down back to the Dāntián. Again the body has now turned back to face the front. We can now repeat the movement from right to left again.
This time, when we turn to the right side, the right hand is Nì and it circles back and then up from behind and then back to the front. The left hand is Nì and it follows along with the right hand. Then when we turn to the left side, the right hand is Shùn and the left hand is Nì. They both still circle behind and then back up to the front, going from the bottom up past the face, then forwards and back to the Dāntián, from one side to the other.
