Shùn and Nì Chán Sī Jìn 順與逆纏絲勁 – Part 16 Turn Waist 轉腰Shùn and Nì Chán Sī Jìn Opening and Closing順逆開合

Stand in a medium horse stance, with the feet two shoulder widths apart, back straight, hands resting in front of the Dāntián 丹田. Turn the body to the right, the right hand makes a Shùn Chán Sī Jìn 順纏絲勁circle and the left hand makes a Nì Chán Sī Jìn 逆纏絲勁 circle. Turn the body to the right and raise the right hand up from the Dāntián up past the face and then down behind. The left hand starts at the Dāntián and then goes down and up to the front. When the right hand’s Shùn Chán Sī Jìn goes down, the left hand’s Nì Chán Sī Jìn rises up. They continue to circle and then meet in front of the Middle Dāntián, as the body turns to face the front, and the left hand will be over the right hand.

Now the body will turn to the left. The right hand will change to a Nì Chán Sī Jìn and go forwards. The left hand will change to Shùn Chán Sī Jìn and go backwards. The two circles open out and then meet up again in front of the Middle Dāntián. This time the right hand is over the left hand. Turn to the right side and repeat the movements again.

The hands move in a figure of eight on the right side – the right hand is Shùn and the left hand is Nì. The meet up at the Middle Dāntián with the left over the right.  On the left side- the right hand is Nì and the left hand is Shùn. They meet at the Middle Dāntián with the right hand over the left hand.
